Job summary

Bocado Tapas is a neighborhood restaurant inspired by the flavors and social dining traditions of Spain, Mexico, and the Mediterranean. We are seeking a Line Cook to prepare meats, seafood, vegetables and other items with attention to portion control and quality.

You will maintain a clean, sanitary station, ensure proper plate presentation, and assist with closing duties as needed. Experience in kitchen prep or cooking and clear communication with the team are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen preparation and/or cooking.
• Strong communication with managers, kitchen and team members.
• Ability to lift up to 20+ pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
• Know and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
• Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment, etc.
• Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
• Handle, store and rotate all products properly.
• Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
• Close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assist others in closing the kitchen.
• Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
