Job summary

The YMCA is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to lead safe, engaging classes for all fitness levels. You will create a welcoming atmosphere, motivate and support participants, and help them reach wellness goals.

Arriving early to set up, maintaining a clean space, and following safety protocols are essential. Stay current on certifications and actively participate in trainings and team meetings to support a mission-driven wellness community.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required or ability to obtain before employment.
• Passion for health, wellness and helping others succeed.
• Strong communication and motivational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, engaging, and effective group exercise classes for participants of all fitness levels.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that encourages members to reach wellness goals.
• Motivate, educate, and support participants throughout each class.
• Arrive early to set up equipment and greet members before class begins.
• Build positive relationships with members and connect them to YMCA community.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fitness space.
• Follow YMCA policies, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings and maintain certifications.
