Job summary

El Fenix Mexican Restaurant in Irving, TX is seeking a server to deliver genuine hospitality and high-quality service. You will seat Guests, take and deliver orders, answer questions about menu items, and help maintain a clean, safe dining environment. Experience in full-service dining is preferred, with required Food Handler and TABC certifications.

You will work as part of a team, upsell menu items, manage pacing to Guests’ needs, and contribute to a memorable dining experience every shift.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a server in a full-service dining establishment.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certified Food Handler and TABC certified.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide genuine hospitality with a smile.
• Maintain a great attitude focused on Guest satisfaction.
• Be a team player: seating Guests, running food, bussing tables, and assisting others.

• Provide attentive service and timely food/beverage delivery.

• Know menu items and how to upsell; answer guest questions.
• Greet Guests, present menus, and explain specials/promotions.
• Adapt service pace to Guest time restrictions and needs.
• Anticipate Guest needs and accommodate special requests.
• Take accurate orders, input into POS, and deliver quality food/drink.
• Act as final quality check on food and beverages.
• Inform management of maintenance, safety, stock, and Guest issues.
• Help resolve Guest complaints per BLAST recovery model.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the restaurant.
• Complete side work and closing duties as assigned.
• Ensure safe food handling and restaurant safety for Guests and Team Members.
