Job summary

Kansas City Live! is seeking a bartender to join our team in Kansas City. You will provide high-energy guest service, mix cocktails, and handle orders while maintaining professionalism and brand standards.

The role requires knowledge of beverages, age verification, and ability to upsell promotions. Weekend and evening shifts may be required, with attention to accuracy in cash handling.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience bartending at high-volume bars/nightclubs.
• Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, glassware, preparation methods and garnishments.
• Must meet state legal age requirements.
• Must speak fluent English.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or health/food handler card as required by local/state law.
• Reading and writing abilities for taking orders and paperwork.
• Mathematical skills used for payments and tips.
• May be required to work nights, weekends and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide an energetic, outgoing personality while maintaining professionalism.
• Mix ingredients and prepare cocktails and other drinks according to recipes.
• Serve wine and beer (bottled or draft).
• Take beverage orders from serving staff or guests.
• Check guests’ identification to ensure legal age for consumption.
• Present and promote current promotions to guests.
• Record and account for items ordered and secure payment.
• Record tips as per company policies and procedures.
• Complete all side work as assigned.
• Be well-versed in products to guide guest experience and upsell items.
