Job summary

LIFT Enrichment is seeking an enthusiastic After-School Cooking Instructor/Chef Teacher to lead hands-on cooking workshops for students in Title I schools. You will teach two identical afternoon sessions, with a typical day including two workshops and preparation time.

The role is seasonal, part-time, and onsite in Oakland, CA, with paid training and mileage reimbursement. No professional culinary experience is required as we provide training and a curriculum to follow.

Qualifications

• No professional chef experience required.
• Training provided.
• Experience teaching or mentoring kids is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of 15–20 students (K-8) through hands-on cooking activities.
• Teach fun, healthy recipes using provided curriculum.
• Introduce kids to basic cooking, nutrition, and kitchen safety.
• Keep students engaged, excited, and involved in activities.
• Manage setup, cooking, and cleanup for workshops.
• Grocery shop and prep ingredients as needed for classes.
• Transport program supplies to the school as required.
