Job summary

Cameron Nursing Center is seeking an energetic Activities Assistant to support the Activity Director in assessing, organizing, and implementing activity and recreational services for residents. The role emphasizes delivering engaging programs tailored to individual needs and interests while maintaining compliance with regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, be comfortable in long-term care settings, and bring a passion for helping residents enjoy meaningful daily

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in activities is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in long-term care.
• At least 1 year of experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote residents' engagement and functioning.
• Encourage resident participation in group and individual activities (arts/crafts, outings, religious, intellectual, educational, and community activities).
• Assist in completing activity documentation in line with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Submit supplies list and receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintain precautions/limitations list for each resident.
• Assist in organizing and supervising volunteers, including recruitment and training.
• Assist with Resident Council meetings as needed.
• Help plan community activities involving community, staff, families, and residents.
• Assist in compiling a monthly calendar of programs and post it in the center.
