Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Endpoint Software Configuration Management Engineer to support a national intelligence program. You will develop and automate release processes, manage builds, and ensure secure, reliable software deployments across environments.

You will work with engineers to resolve build issues, maintain version control, and contribute to continuous improvement of the release process. This role requires TS/SCI with Poly and a strong foundation in Linux, Java web apps, and

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain Poly clearance.
• 8+ years of relevant IT experience with a Bachelor's degree (or 6 years with Master's; 3 years with PhD; or 12 years with HS).
• Experience with enterprise application server architectures.
• Experience in administering application server architectures in large environments.
• Understanding of web technologies, servers, load balancers, protocols, and SSL.
• Familiarity with Linux command line and architecture.
• Ability to troubleshoot Java-based web applications.
• Scripting in Shell and/or Python.
• Working knowledge of Oracle/SQL databases.
• Effective verbal and written communication with customers and senior leaders.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, analyze, andmaintaintools that support andautomate processesforhardware or software product release.

• Writeinstallation scripts and programs for installation of products.

• Work with project teams to determineappropriate buildschedulesand theninitiatethe build and packaging process.

• Compile andassemble software from source code.

• Ensure tools are stored in source control.

• Support developers for software package registry and delivery.

• Work with others to complete analysis, evaluations, and design alternatives and to implement process improvements.

• Work with development engineers to correct build errors.

• Manage source code repositories and ensure adherence to version control best practices.

• Automate thesoftwarebuild, test, and deployment processes to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery.

• Design and implement release pipelinesto ensure smooth and reliablesoftwarerollouts.

• Train and mentor team members on thesoftwarebuild and continuous integration process and tools.

• Support new application features andmaintainenvironments.

• Serve as gatekeeper, ensuring that codetransitions smoothly from development to operational environments, whilemaintainingconfiguration control,integrityand reliability of the product.

• Work jointly with engineering,operationsand quality assurance to ensure that software builds are created, tested, and deployed efficiently and reliablyto meet schedules and dependency requirements.

• Maintaindocumentation related to release procedures, configurations, and modifications.

• Develop and enforcepolicies for hotfixes and emergency releases.

• Track and report on release metrics to assess performance andidentifyareas for improvement.

• Facilitatecommunication across teams and stakeholders to keep everyone informed about release statuses and timelines.

• Manageenvironment configurations, including deployment and rollback procedures for multiple environments.

• Stay current with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously refine and improve the release process.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Active Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with ability to pass and obtain a Poly level Clearance.

• Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with aBachelor’sdegree (Master’sdegree and 6 years of relevant experience or PhD with 3 years relevant experienceora High School diploma and 12 years of relevant work experience in the IT field).

• Knowledge of Application Server architecture in a large enterprise environment.

• Experience administering application server architectures in large enterprise environments.

• Understanding of web technologiesincludeapplication and web servers, load balancers, browsers, protocols, data formats, markup and programming languages, and SSL.

• Familiarity with the Linux command line and basic Linux architecture.

• Ability to troubleshoot Java-based web applications.

• Shell and/or Python scripting experience.

• Working knowledge of database technologies such as Oracle and SQL.

• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to customers and senior leaders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI with Poly clearances.

• CISSP or Security+ Certification.

• Deep understanding of infrastructure as code principles and the use of technologies such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Salt.

• Knowledge of Apache web server administration.

• Knowledge of identity management solutions such as Oracle IAM or RH-SSO (Keycloak) is a plus.

• Experience with load balancing technologies such as HA Proxy is a plus.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelinesutilizingJenkins is a plus.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelinesutilizingJenkins is a plus.

• Familiarity with container orchestration and VMWare is a plus.

This Positionrequiresan Active TS/SCI and the ability to obtain a Poly, US Citizenship isrequired to hold this clearance.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
