Job summary

Mimecast is hiring a Software Engineer I for the Endpoint Sensor on the Incydr platform. You'll develop the endpoint data protection agent across Windows, macOS, and Linux, building kernel drivers and security extensions to stop data loss and insider risk.

This role emphasizes end-to-end feature work, collaboration with AI-assisted tooling, and a security-first mindset, with production-ready code and robust observability.

Qualifications

• Strong C++ fundamentals with memory management and concurrency.
• Experience with systems programming on Windows, macOS, or Linux.
• Familiarity with kernel-mode drivers or endpoint security features is a plus.
• Ability to read and reason about existing software architecture and make sound decisions.
• Comfort using AI coding assistants and verify outputs independently.

Responsibilities

• Implement features in Windows, macOS, and Linux agents from scoped pieces to small end-to-end features.
• Work at OS boundary on kernel-mode components and Endpoint Security extensions.
• Contribute to detection paths and inline enforcement logic with growing ownership.
• Integrate agent capabilities with backend and product workflows.
• Build observability, performance, and stability into production components.
