The engineer will deploy tools, patch systems, and enforce health checks, including antivirus, DLP, and EDR updates while collaborating with multiple groups and vendors.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in Windows endpoint, Hypervisors, and endpoint devices support (Windows XP/7/10, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2019).
• Experience with Linux (RedHat, CentOS, SuSE, Alma, Rocky, Ubuntu).
• Experience deploying Anti-Virus, DLP, and Endpoint Detection and Response tools.

Responsibilities

• Deploy security tools on endpoints and provide IT support for Engineering Groups.
• Maintain system standards and build processes for End of Support Life systems; ensure antivirus, DLP, and EDR coverage with regular backend updates.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades; configure services and health-critical administrative tools; perform daily system monitoring and maintenance.
• Rack and stack servers in Data Center; communicate with Engineering, Facilities, IT, Cyber, and Vendors.

Job Description:

• The client is deploying security tools on Windows and Linux endpoints so that all endpoint systems are managed and in compliance with cyber policies in Milpitas, CA location.
• This individual will be accountable for Windows endpoints, Linux endpoints in various Engineering Groups.
• Responsibilities on the above systems include Deploying security tools, System Administration, engineering and provisioning, operations and support, and research & development to ensure IP protection and continual innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Assessment and Deployment of security tools on endpoints.
• Perform regular IT support for Engineering Groups.
• Investigate and trouble-shoot endpoint systems issues.
• IT-related solutions within engineering groups.
• Maintain system standards and build processes for End of Support Life systems.
• Make sure that all the systems are part of virus scanner, DLP, EDR solutions and get regular update from backend servers.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a periodic basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as vital to the health and hygiene of the infrastructure.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of key jobs.
• Develop and maintain Golden Image process and procedure for Windows systems.
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
• Identify approaches that use our resources and provide economies of scale.
• Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
• Position requires communicating with different functional groups like Engineering, Facilities, IT, Cyber and Vendors.
• This person deals with a variety of problems. The questions/issues are typically clear and require determination of which answer (from a few choices) is the best.
• Should be able to do Rack and Stack of servers in Data Center.

Experience:

• 3-5 years’ experience on Windows, Hypervisors, and endpoint devices support Windows - Windows XP/7/10, Windows server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2019 etc.
• Linux – RedHat, CentOS, SuSE, Alma, Rocky, Ubuntu etc.
• Experience in deploying Anti-Virus, DLP solution, Endpoint Detection and Response security tools.
• Experience in installing new and rebuild existing servers/desktops and configure hardware, peripherals, and services.
• Experience of supporting engineering users for day-to-day support in large corporate environment.
• Install and configure systems infrastructures for Engineering Tools Developments.
• Knowledge on Virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix and Citrix Xen Server.
• Knowledge on AD, Client, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP Networking, VPN, imaging Technologies like Acronis.
• Take direction from the team lead and work within a team-environment to achieve organizational goals.
• Should have excellent problem-solving capability.

Skills:

• Scripting knowledge is a plus (Nice to have).
• Knowledge of core Planning, Scheduling, Purchasing and Logistics (Nice to have).
• Knowledgeable and experienced with industry standard methodologies in Project Management, Production Planning and Asset management (Nice to have).

Education:

Bachelor’s or relevant experience.
