Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related field.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit development, relationship management, fund administration, philanthropy, project management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage external relationships, earn trust, provide counsel, and move partners from conversation to action.
  • Strong project and process-management skills, including ownership of complex work involving multiple departments, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit organizational structure, board governance, fundraising, stewardship, and endowment concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, oral, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, donor databases, and cloud-based data-management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage an assigned portfolio of endowed nonprofit partners, serving as the primary relationship contact and identifying opportunities for engagement and endowment-growth, as appropriate.
  • Build trusted relationships with nonprofit executive directors, development staff, board members, and other stakeholders; provide practical counsel on endowment building, stewardship, campaigns, and use of OCCF resources.
  • Conduct partner meetings, selected board presentations, and consultations; identify opportunities or concerns and recognize situations that involve executive-level, high-value, unusually complex, or reputational matters to elevate to Director.
  • Manage stewardship follow-up for new funds, early gifts, active campaigns, and significant milestones, modeling effective donor stewardship for beneficiary organizations.
  • Support the Director with nonprofit endowment fundholder dissolutions and variance-power cases.
  • Manage the nonprofit endowment application and onboarding process from initial interest through fund establishment, ensuring correspondence, documentation, compliance review, internal handoffs, and partner communication are accurate and timely.
  • Coordinate the annual distribution of more than $15 million from program funds, working with Finance dept and the Associate to ensure accuracy, compliance, and clear communication to partners.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination with colleagues in Finance, Communications, Gift Planning, and other departments so partner communications, reports, publications, and operational processes are accurate, timely, and aligned.
  • Manage content and coordinate timely updates for program materials, including regular review, collection of updates, internal approval, project management through the Communications department process, and final release.
  • Coordinate governance and compliance for Nonprofit Endowment Affiliate Fund meetings and manage required documentation, follow-up, and distribution requests.
  • Establish clear workflows, document team processes, identify gaps, and drive improvements that strengthen consistency and partner experience.
  • Support portfolio segmentation by maintaining current knowledge of partner engagement, organizational capacity, fund performance, development goals, and planned-giving potential.
  • Partner with the Director to identify and cultivate organizations with strong potential for campaigns, additional asset transfers, planned gifts, or deeper OCCF engagement.
  • Research and coordinate matching-grant opportunities, including campaign support, tracking, reporting, and high-touch stewardship.
  • Contribute to the design of educational programming and independently facilitate selected workshops, presentations, and peer-learning opportunities.
  • Support impact measurement and reporting for the Nonprofit Endowment Program, including collecting and organizing data and outcomes.
  • Manage the operational work of the Nonprofit Endowment Advisory Committee, including agendas, materials, logistics, reporting, minutes, follow-up, and continued engagement between meetings.
