The analyst will develop generalist skills across Public Equity, Fixed Income, Real Estate, and Alternatives by supporting investment research, reporting, performance measurement, and special projects. The role includes travel for onsite diligence, industry conferences, and relationship development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in economics, finance, business, mathematics, or computer science.
  • 0.5 year to 1 year experience in an investment office setting with portfolio management.
  • Knowledge of portfolio management across multiple asset classes.
  • Aspiration to complete the CFA designation.
  • Ability to learn multidisciplinary subjects quickly.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Resourceful and self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Independent and collaborative work style.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Integrity and fiduciary responsibility.
  • Ability to articulate and defend Liberty University’s Christian mission.
  • Not in default on federal student or parent loans; no government-fund-related fraud convictions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research supporting the investment program.
  • Assist in onboarding and maintaining custodian systems and portfolio software.
  • Attend fund manager meetings, take notes, ask thoughtful questions.
  • Prepare diligence notes and analyze investment strategy and track records.
  • Prepare presentation materials for Investment Committee stakeholders.
  • Aggregate portfolio data to design exposure reports.
  • Research sectors to form investment theses.
  • Coordinate month-end closing and reconciliation with custodians.
  • Monitor investments and prepare quarterly performance analyses.
  • Prepare subscription documents and monitor capital calls and distributions.
