Job summary

The University of Utah invites applications for the Spruance Endowed Chair in Virology within the Division of Infectious Diseases. This tenure-track posi­tion is aimed at an innovative physician-scientist who will establish a robust virology research program and contribute to clinical infectious diseases care and education.

Compensation includes startup funds, protected research time, and new laboratory space, with appointment level determined by prior experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be physician-scientists who are board-eligible or board-certified in infectious diseases and have established or show promise of establishing a research career.
• Expertise in virology or interest in pursuing viral etiology of chronic diseases.

Responsibilities

• Lead a research program focused on virology with protected time and startup support.
• Teach and mentor trainees, including medical students, residents and fellows.
• Provide clinical services in infectious diseases as part of a comprehensive division program.
