Job summary

The University of Houston’s Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering invites applications for two Endowed Professorships at the rank of Full Professor to begin in Fall 2027. We seek outstanding candidates with strong foundations in operations research, manufacturing, machine learning, quantum computing, or quantum materials, with innovative applications in energy, healthcare, or complex systems.

• Applicants must hold an earned Ph.D. in industrial engineering or a closely related field.
• Distinguished record of research, teaching, mentorship, and leadership.
• Sustained records of high-impact peer-reviewed scholarship and competitive external funding.
• Commitment to vigorous research programs and cross-disciplinary collaborations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vigorous research programs and foster cross-disciplinary collaborations.
• Mentor students and junior faculty and contribute to teaching innovation.
• Secure external funding and provide leadership in the department.
