Job summary

The University of Houston invites applications for two Endowed Professorships in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the rank of Full Professor to begin in Fall 2027.

We seek outstanding candidates with strong methodological foundations in areas such as operations research, manufacturing, machine learning, quantum computing, and quantum materials, with innovative applications in energy, healthcare, or complex systems.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold an earned Ph.D. in industrial engineering or closely related field.
• Candidates must have distinguished records of research, teaching, mentorship, and leadership commensurate with appointment at the rank of full professor, including sustained records of high-impact peer-reviewed scholarship and competitive external funding.
• Successful candidates will be expected to maintain vigorous research programs, foster nationally recognized cross-disciplinary collaborations, mentor students and junior faculty, and contribute to teaching innovation.
