University of California, Davis seeks a tenured faculty member or CE Specialist for the Beckley/Herzog Endowed Chair in the Department of Food Science and Technology. The Chair will advance teaching, research, outreach and engagement in sustainable food systems.

The appointment is five years and renewable based on review, with a focus on reducing waste, improving energy and water use, and strengthening academic-industry-community linkages.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate or Full Rank Professor or CE Specialist in the Department of Food Science and Technology.
• Chair supports teaching, research, outreach and engagement activities in food science.

Responsabilités

• Teach a normal load for the department or provide extension teaching/programs with advising/mentoring.
• Provide innovation and leadership in research in food systems, especially reducing loss and waste and improving energy and water use.
• Engage in donor-designated outreach activities including lectures, conferences, student research.
• Perform service to the home department and the broader community.
• Enhance the academic and intellectual life of the campus.
