Job summary

Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT seeks an Endoscopy Technician to support GI/Pulmonary procedures under direct supervision. You will prepare rooms, assist physicians, and maintain sterile technique, processing scopes and materials to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include instrument setup, specimen handling, adherence to PPE protocols, and participation in quality assurance and training. Experience in endoscopy or PCT role preferred; HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of infection control prevention.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certification in Flexible Endoscope Reprocessing or SGNA as eligible within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms with appropriate instruments, devices, supplies and equipment necessary for each endoscopic procedure.
• Assists physicians with Endoscopic procedures using universal precautions and equipment.
• Follows PPE procedures and maintains sterile field to prevent contamination.
• Processes lab specimens.
• Sets up sterile or clean table with instruments and supplies for procedures.
• Cleans and high-level disinfects endoscopes and accessories.
• Monitors patient safety during procedures and assists with conscious sedation setup.
