Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a team-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to support the Endoscopy Reprocessing Suite. You will perform cleaning, decontamination, high-level disinfection, and inventory tasks to ensure patient care activities run smoothly and safely.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or educational equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of related experience in GI scope processing.
• Certification from CBSPD or IAHCSMM or willing to obtain within 2 years from date of hire.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with the patient care team.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and initiative.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning tasks per SGNA guidelines to ensure sanitary Endoscopy Reprocessing Suite.
• Maintains inventory for the Endoscopy Reprocessing Suite.
• Maintains competency and participates in unit activities.
• Keeps equipment logs as required by regulatory agencies.
• Coordinates vendor maintenance/repairs of scopes.
• Communicates department needs with nursing to schedule scopes.
• Works independently and contributes to decision making.
