Job summary

Riverside Hospital in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a GI Technician to support the endoscopy team. You will prepare and maintain endoscopic equipment, assist in procedures, and ensure sterile conditions throughout the workflow.

Responsibilities include cleaning and decontamination, specimen handling, and collaboration with physicians to meet procedural needs. Requires High School diploma and CPR/BLS; a certified reprocessor credential is preferred or required upon hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year related experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS Certification required upon hire.
• Certified Endoscope Reprocessor certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and maintaining endoscopic equipment, instrumentation, and supplies.
• Set-up and break down for endoscopy procedures (Colonoscopy, EGD, flexible sigmoidoscopy).
• Support RN and team, maintain sterile field during procedures.
• Collect and deliver specimens; ensure proper cleaning and decontamination.
• Disinfect, store, and prepare endoscopes per protocol and regulatory guidelines.
• Assist in training staff and vendors; communicate equipment needs and issues.
