Job summary

Riverside Health in Williamsburg, VA is seeking an GI Endoscopy Technician to assist the endoscopy team under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Nurse Manager. You will prepare and maintain endoscopic equipment, ensure sterile techniques, and support scheduling and case preparation for colonoscopy, EGD, and flexible sigmoidoscopy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year related experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS Certification required upon hire.
• Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (IAHCSMM) required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain endoscopic equipment, instrumentation and supplies.
• Set up and break down the endoscopy procedure room for Colonoscopy, EGD, and flexible sigmoidoscopy.
• Assist the endoscopy RN and team in patient care and procedures.
• Ensure sterile field and proper cleaning, disinfection and antisepsis of endoscopes.
• Disinfects scopes per protocol and assists in training teammates and students.
