Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans, LA, is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to support GI procedures and maintain infection control standards. You will disinfect and sterilize equipment, prepare patients, and assist physicians during endoscopic procedures.

The role requires a High School Diploma or 2 years of related experience and BLS/CPR certification. Day shifts are typical at the New Orleans East Hospital location within LCMC Health.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or 2 years of work experience.
• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (CPR, BLS) certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Determine if equipment is appropriate for scheduled procedures and what needs to be ordered.
• Follow infection control protocols to clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment.
• Assist physician with endoscopic procedures.
• Document procedures as required.
• Prepare patient for endoscopic procedures.
• Ensure supplies and instruments are set up properly for procedures.
• Monitor and document assigned performance improvement tasks.
• Demonstrate compliance with state, federal and accrediting standards (HIPAA, patient safety, infection control).
