LCMC Health in New Orleans is seeking an Endoscopy Reprocessing Technician to clean, disinfect, and store endoscopes and accessories, while maintaining QA data logs and adhering to infection control policies.

Under supervision, you will assist with patient care related to endoscopy, verify equipment readiness, document procedures, and ensure safe handling of instruments during procedures.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent OR 2 years of work experience
• Knowledge of infection control principles including proper cleaning and disinfectant techniques
• Attention to detail and the ability to use equipment and tools safely and correctly
• Diploma from an approved Sterile Processing Program
• 1 year of work experience in health care, supply management, or operating department or procedure room experience
• Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) or CBSPD

Aufgaben

• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and accessories following each procedure in accordance with infection control protocols.
• Provide technical and clinical support for diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures; verify equipment availability and coordinate supplies; assist physicians during procedures and document proceedings.
• Operate and maintain automated endoscope reprocessing equipment using approved procedures and parameters; inspect endoscopes and report issues; label and track instruments and monitor reprocessing expiration; maintain records and inventory.
• Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety; set up and organize supplies and instruments for efficient flow.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations, infection control policies, patient safety, and HIPAA requirements; promote adherence to standards within the department.
