Job summary

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health in Washington, DC, seeks an experienced Endoscopy Technician (Per-Diem/PRN, Days) to support procedures. You will prepare rooms, gather endoscopes, light sources, video monitors, and verify equipment readiness.

You will assist doctors and nurses during procedures, monitor patients, perform cleaning and sterilization, and document findings per guidelines. This role emphasizes infection control, patient safety, and collaboration within our care teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of CNA, Medical Assistant course, or two years of nursing education.
• At least one year of Endoscopy tech/assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Periodically check patients, take vital signs, monitor equipment, and report changes to the care team.
• Deliver care in a competent, caring, and efficient manner.
• Monitor patient status during procedures and recovery, documenting findings.
• Assist physicians during procedures by handing tools and samples.
• Clean and sterilize gear after each procedure following infection-control rules.
• Document related data such as blood sugars and EKGs per guidelines.
