Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. is seeking an Endoscopy Technician committed to patient-centered care. The individual will assist teams during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.

This role requires knowledge of equipment and procedures. Responsibilities include setup, troubleshooting complex equipment, and adhering to quality assurance guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Recognizes the patients and their family/designated care partner(s) to provide safe, compassionate and coordinated care.
• Provides expert assistance to endoscopist with understanding of patient’s anatomy and the procedure being performed.
• Assists endoscopist in the performance of endoscopic procedures including advanced therapeutic procedures.
• Assists with collection and preparation of specimens.
• Assists with emergent procedures in the endoscopy suite, OR or ICU setting.
• Responsible for setup, use, troubleshooting and maintenance of highly complex equipment.
• Responsible for quality assurance guidelines in high-level disinfection reprocessing room.
• Responsible for adhering to sanitary policies and procedures and infection control guidelines.
• May be required to be on call to support urgent/emergent procedures outside normal business hours.
