Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Ohio is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to assist with coordination of care in the endoscopy department under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role emphasizes compassionate patient support and teamwork.

Duties include preparing, maintaining and cleaning equipment for invasive procedures, processing specimens, keeping the GI area clean and stocked, and serving as a resource for less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalency required.
• Previous patient care experience and/or technical education in health-related field preferred
• Effective Communication Skills
• Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal relations skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment and supplies and assists in performing invasive endoscopic procedures
• Processes tissue and bodily fluids specimens
• Maintains the GI procedure area in a clean, safe condition. Ensures necessary equipment and supplies are available for procedures
• Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
