United Digestives is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to assist with direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, set up procedures, and handle instrument reprocessing in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role emphasizes infection control, equipment maintenance per manufacturer guidelines, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the Endoscopy Manager to support high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Certified Medical Assistant or the equivalent required, a minimum of 2 years of endoscopy experience may be considered in lieu of certification.
• Certified Flexible Endoscopy Reprocessor (CFER) preferred. Endoscopy Technician must be computer literate and able to operate various healthcare systems and multiple Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assists with direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Explains procedures and expected sensations to patient and provides instructions to ensure patient cooperation and to minimize discomfort.
• Sets up appropriate equipment for procedures and ensures necessary supplies are available.
• Assists physician with procedure as directed.
• Takes and records vital signs.
• Collects, prepares, and labels specimens accurately.
• Reports patient findings to supervisor or RN responsible for the patient in a timely fashion.
• Demonstrates knowledge of infection control procedures and follows policy.
