Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a GI Associate to assist physicians and registered nurses in diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures, prepare and reprocess endoscopy equipment, and support patient care under RN supervision.

The role includes serving as a first assistant to physicians, managing instruments and supplies, and participating in quality improvement activities within Perioperative Services. Some assignments may occur in other ancillary roles.

Summary

The GI Associate assists the physician and RN in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, prepares and maintains the endoscopy equipment, transports the patient, assists in patient care delivery under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The GI Associate acts as a first assistant to the physicians, handles and reprocesses instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the procedure, anticipates the needs of the physician and team, and has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care. In addition, the GI Associate functions as a resource for difficult procedures, troubleshoots equipment problems, maintains supply inventories, is a role model for service management, participates in quality improvement activities on the unit, complies with regulatory agency requirements, and responds to emergency situations as directed by the RN. This role includes assignments in other ancillary/technical roles within Perioperative Services as needed.

Salary Range $17.97 - $27.16 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
