Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Endoscopy Support role to assist during procedures and ensure patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will reprocess endoscopes, maintain equipment, and prepare rooms for successive procedures under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include patient vital signs support, basic nursing assistant duties, and maintaining infection control standards across Endoscopy suites. The team emphasizes safety and collaboration in a high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Licensure/Certification: None Required.
• Experience: None required.

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients as delegated by the registered nurse and completes all aspects of care for the assigned patients.
• Properly reprocesses endoscopes according to infection control and Lahey Clinic guidelines.
• Assures endoscope equipment is in working order.
• Keeps accurate documentation for cleaning/testing of equipment and supplies.
• Cleans Endoscopy procedure rooms after use and prepares for next procedure in a timely fashion.
• Directly assists physician and RN during Endoscopy procedures (EGD, Colonoscopy, Polypectomy, Biopsies, PEG placement, ERCP, EUS).
• Operates/handles equipment properly during Endoscopic procedures.
• Handles specimens according to policy.
• Orders supplies from Pharmacy in response to emergency requests.
