AmSurg Corp in Wayne, NJ, seeks an Endoscopy Technician to assist in patient prep, instrument handling, and maintaining sterile endoscopy environments. You will work with the healthcare team to ensure procedures run safely and efficiently.

The role requires attention to detail, English proficiency, and prior endoscopy experience. You will follow all policy guidelines, participate in staff education, and help maintain high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturer’s instructions or instructions for use; present information professionally.
  • Ability to stand for long periods; lift, push or pull objects or patients.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, efficiently, accurately, and with attention to details.
  • 1 year experience working as an Endoscopy Technician.
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support provider program.
  • Availability for no less than 2 shifts per month, at least one weekend shift (6:30am-12:30pm).

Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparing patients for their procedure.
  • Works with the health care team to prepare the endoscopy suite with properly functioning equipment, supplies, and instruments.
  • Collects and handles patient specimens, assists RN with documentation.
  • Reports changes in patient condition to nurses and physicians.
  • Ensures high-level disinfection and sterility of instruments and supplies.
  • Cleans endoscopy suite between cases per policy.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies.
  • Adheres to Code of Conduct and center policies.
  • Provides a safe, caring, respectful environment for patients.
  • Communicates safety concerns following the chain of command.
  • Assists with accurate documentation for procedure records and logs.
  • Promotes patient and physician satisfaction.
  • Adheres to aseptic techniques and sterile processes in the endoscopy suite.
  • Performs other duties as required and participates in meetings and training.

Job description

  • Assistsin preparing patientsfortheirprocedure
  • Works with the healthcare team to prepare the endoscopy suite according to requirements of patient, physician, and procedure,assembling and providing properly functioning equipment, supplies, and instruments.
  • Collects and handles patient specimens per policy.Assists the RN in accurately documenting and handling specimens.
  • Reportsobservedchanges in patient condition to nurses and physicians
  • Works collaboratively with the endoscopy team to assure high level disinfection and/or sterility of instruments and supplies according to policy andprocedure
  • Follows manufacturer’s instructions for use for all steps of cleaning, high level disinfection or sterilization for instruments and/or equipment
  • Appropriately cleans endoscopy suite between cases following centers policy and procedures
  • Assistswithmaintainingadequate inventory of supplies
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to the Code of Conduct
  • Complies withcenter policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates an attitude that is caring, respectful, sensitive,andcompassionate.
  • Provides a safe environment for the patient

Position Qualifications:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, efficiently, accurately, and with attention to details
  • 1 year experience working as an Endoscopy Technician
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support provider program
  • This position requires availability forno less than 2 shifts per month with at least one being a weekend shift (630a-1230p)
