Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital - New Hampshire is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to join our GI team. You will prepare rooms and endoscopy equipment, assist during procedures, and help with specimen handling while upholding patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterilization, organizing supplies, and supporting physicians and nurses throughout procedures. A high school diploma and BLS within 30 days are required; prior endoscopy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of start date.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Endoscopy Technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare procedure rooms and endoscopy equipment, ensure equipment is in working order, and keep supplies stocked.
  • Assist with patient positioning and safe patient transport.
  • Support physicians and nurses during procedures, handle instruments and collect specimens.
  • Disinfect, sterilize equipment and maintain accurate records for quality and safety.
  • Communicate with patients and families with kindness, maintaining privacy and comfort.

Schedule

Full Time Days, 32 hours per week, Monday-Friday with some on‑call required. Must live within 30 minutes of hospital for on‑call response.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As an Endoscopy Technician, you’ll play an important role in helping provide safe, effective procedures to patients undergoing GI and endoscopy procedures. Your careful work preparing equipment and maintaining a clean, well‑organized environment will help protect patients and empower caregivers to deliver on our shared mission to improve more lives in more ways.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing procedure rooms and endoscopy equipment, verifying equipment is in proper working order, and keeping supplies organized and stocked
  • Helping position and transport patients safely and comfortably while using proper body mechanics to protect both patients and yourself
  • Supporting physicians and nurses during procedures, including handling instruments, collecting specimens, and following proper safety practices
  • Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing endoscopy equipment, and keeping accurate records for quality and safety
  • Communicating with kindness and compassion to patients and families, keeping them informed, and supporting their privacy and comfort throughout their care
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • High School Graduate / GED required
  • Previous Endoscopy Technician experience preferred
