Job summary

US Digestive Health seeks an Endoscopy Technician to support case preparation, patient prep assistance, and instrument handling. You will set up the procedure rooms based on physician preference, assist during endoscopic procedures, and help with specimen processing.

Candidate should have 2+ years in surgical or endoscopy roles, GI experience preferred, and strong medical terminology knowledge. This is a full-time, on-site position with no travel required.

Qualifications

• Two (2) or more years as Surgical or Endoscopy Technician
• Experience in a GI or multi-specialty medical environment preferred
• Working knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up endoscopy procedure rooms.
• Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures and anticipate needs.
• Clean and maintain endoscopes and equipment; handle instruments properly.
• Process specimens as required.
• Support nursing staff with pre- and post-procedure calls.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary/Objective

The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for case preparation, assisting with patient preparation, proper handling of instruments supplies and equipment, preparation of the room based upon the specific procedure and physician's preference, and anticipating the physician's needs.

Essential Functions

1. Case preparation, setting up procedure rooms.
2. Cleaning and routine care and maintenance of endoscopes and equipment. Proper handling of instruments.
3. Assisting physicians while performing endoscopic procedures while anticipating the physicians’ need.
4. Specimen Processing.
5. Assist nurses in pre and post patient calls
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional ambulatory surgery center environment, utilizing standard medical equipment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands include standing, walking, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, with an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday. No weekends are required.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.
