Job summary

AdventHealth Lenexa is seeking a part-time Endoscopy Support Technician to monitor endoscopy instruments, assist with procedures under RN/MD supervision, and ensure timely setup and handling of specimens. Strong attention to safety and teamwork required.

Qualifications include BLS, CNA preferred, high school or equiv, and English fluency; willingness to work flexible hours and call shifts. Competitive benefits and a supportive workplace in Kansas.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors levels of all endoscopy instruments and supplies.
  • Follows written procedures for high-level disinfection and monitoring.
  • Performs procedures within defined scope of practice.
  • Provides supportive care to patients under direct supervision of RN and physician.
  • Ensures endoscopy suite is prepared for procedures and supplies are ready.
  • Prepares room with anticipated supplies for each procedure.
  • Assists in positioning, prepping, and draping patients.
  • Maintains an orderly environment and anticipates physician needs.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in setup of multi-specialty endoscopy procedures.
  • Care and handling of endoscopy instrumentation and supplies.

Job Description:

Monitors levels of all endoscopy instruments and supplies.Follows written procedures for high-level disinfection and chemical and biological monitoring. Performs treatments and procedures within the defined scope of practice. Provides supportive care to patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and physician. Ensures the endoscopy suite is adequately prepared for procedures. Prepares the room in a timely manner with all anticipated supplies and equipment for each endoscopy procedure. Demonstrates competence in the care and accurate handling of specimens. Checks all equipment and instruments needed prior to each procedure to ensure proper functioning. Assists in positioning, prepping, and draping patients for endoscopy procedures. Maintains an orderly environment and anticipates the needs of the physician during procedures. Demonstrates proficiency in the setup of multi-specialty endoscopy procedures. Other duties as assigned.Demonstrates dexterity, knowledge, and safety in the care and handling of endoscopy instrumentation and supplies.
