Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to join the ambulatory care team. This role focuses on skilled reprocessing of endoscopes and related devices under RN supervision, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will assist in preparing patients, transporting them safely, and supporting daily procedure schedules. A high school diploma and BLS/CPR are required; a BS degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• CPR – Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Maintains competencies in the reprocessing of endoscopes and operating the scope washers.
• Identifies actual or potential problems with the integrity of the endoscopes and assists the charge nurse in orchestrating repair.
• Maintains documentation regarding the inventory and repair of endoscopes.
• Uses proper patient identification procedures in transporting of patients.
• Safely transports patients by wheelchair or stretcher.
• Demonstrates support and awareness of daily schedule by expediting on time starts and efficient turnover between procedures.
