Job summary

Tufts Medicine seeks an Endoscopy Support Technician to assist with endoscopic procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role ensures proper reprocessing of endoscopes, maintains equipment, and prepares rooms for procedures.

You will document cleaning, manage supplies, and support staff during pre, intra, and post-procedure activities to uphold patient safety and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: One (1) year of operating room experience.
• Assists with endoscopic procedures under RN supervision.
• Keeps accurate documentation for cleaning and equipment testing.
• Reprocesses endoscopes according to infection control guidelines.
• Sets up and cleans Endoscopy rooms and restocks supplies.
• Identifies and reports equipment issues to the nurse.
• Interacts with patients and monitors pre/post procedure data.

Responsibilities

• Assist with endoscopic procedures under RN supervision.
• Maintain and restock Endoscopy equipment and supplies.
• Reprocess endoscopes per infection control guidelines.
• Prepare procedure rooms for next case and ensure clean environment.
• Monitor patients, connect to monitoring equipment, and document vitals.
• Report unusual observations to supervising nurse or charge nurse.
