Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital’s Endoscopy team is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under RN supervision. Responsibilities include handling and disinfection of endoscopes, patient transport, and maintaining supplies.

You will support GI and pulmonary procedures and ensure infection control standards are met. The role requires HS diploma, BLS, and GI Tech certification within one year; includes call responsibilities and potential for extended hours

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• GI Technical Specialist (GTS) Certification required within one year of hire.
• BLS for healthcare provider certification required.
• 1 weeknight call per week and 1 weekend call every 5 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with endoscopic dilation, biopsy, polypectomy, and related procedures.
• Assist with specimen collection and handling; label correctly according to policy.
• Maintain and disinfect endoscopes and accessories; operate endoscope washer/disinfector.
• Prepare room, set up equipment, and restock supplies for procedures.
• Communicate with RN/Physician; support patient comfort and safety.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and hospital policies at all times.
