Job summary

St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center is seeking an Endoscopy Prep Technician to clean and disinfect endoscopes and assist in sterile processing.

You will document disinfection on logs, prepare equipment for sterilization, and deliver it to sterile processing, ensuring logs and checks are completed accurately. The role requires careful daily equipment assessments, with escalation of any damage to the unit leader.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED.
• CPR within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects endoscopes and accessory equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Documents cleaning and disinfection on logs.
• Prepares accessory equipment for sterilization and delivers to sterile processing.
• Records dates of disinfection solution changes, runs solution quality tests, and notes filter changes.
• Monitors equipment daily and reports damage or repair needs to the unit leader.
• Sets up and cleans procedure rooms, supply carts, and pre/post procedural areas and equipment.
• Assists the physician during diagnostic/therapeutic procedures as directed by the physician or nurse.
• Cleans and restocks room and unit supplies and accessories.
