Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Endoscopy Technician I to support basic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures across multiple facilities. Under RN supervision, you will help with colonoscopy, EGD, PEG placements, ERCP, and other GI procedures, ensuring safety and documentation compliance.

The role involves rapid setup, instrument handling, room turnover, and adherence to infection control standards, with exposure to emergent cases and on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
• High School diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of patient care for entry-level endoscopic procedures in accordance with safety protocols.
• Assembles, prepares, and sets up equipment and supplies; navigates documentation systems.
• Assists with room turnover and ensures proper handling of instruments and sterile processing.
• Maintains procedural safety and proper handling of tissue and specimen samples.
• Observes safety protocols and participates in time-outs and zero-harm practices.
• Performs high-level disinfection and may assist with instrument sterilization.
• Operates specialized equipment in various procedural settings including ICU and OR.
• Anticipates needs of the provider, RN, and patient within scope of practice.
• Prepares equipment and supplies for emergent procedures and assists with post-procedure cleanup.
• Transports inpatients safely to/from departments.
