Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an Endoscopy Technician 1 to work under a Registered Nurse, assisting with technical procedures and patient care across the endoscopy suite.

The role involves preparing rooms and equipment, supporting physicians, and ensuring aseptic technique and safety throughout procedures. Relevant education and BLS certification are required; experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Education required: HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: less than 1 year in a clinical setting preferred.
• Certification: BLS required or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains equipment safely and in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Assists physician and clinical staff in procedures requiring aseptic technique and standard precautions.
• Safely transports carts, preps patients for exams or procedures, and assists the physician.
• Observes patients, notes changes in condition, and seeks assistance promptly.
• Cleans rooms before/after procedures and handles soiled equipment appropriately.
• Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies; places supply orders as needed.
• Sets up procedure rooms with all necessary equipment and supplies.
• Restocks supplies in assigned rooms at end of shift.
• Performs quality checks on equipment and ensures repairs/cleaning per policy.
