Job summary

Qualifications

Reading and numerical competency.
BLS Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines must be completed during new hire orientation prior to working in a clinical setting.
As an Endo Tech, must complete the GI Technical Specialist (GTS) certification within 1 year.
Able to read and write at a 12th grade level. Basic computer skills.
Requires the ability to respond to call within 30 minutes.

Responsibilities

Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of surgical sites.
Practices aseptic technique.
Assist in preparation of room prior to endoscopic procedure and cleaning room after procedure.
Assists staff and surgeons to insure instruments, supplies, and equipment are available when needed for endo procedures.
Take assigned call as required.
Exhibits knowledge of age specific needs of patients of all psychosocial and/or cultural backgrounds.
