Job summary

Stark Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a Full Time Endoscopy Tech to join our team in Canton, OH. The role involves assisting with GI and PAIN management procedures, preparing equipment, and maintaining the GI area.

Must work weekdays only, with no holidays or weekends, though some evenings may be required. Responsibilities include assisting physicians, documenting notes, supporting preop and recovery, and ensuring smooth operation of the GI suite.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical assistant certification is required.
• Certification in Operating Room Technology is a plus.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Knowledge of OR and GI policies/procedures.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Good manual dexterity for rapid instrument handling.
• Team player and able to handle a busy OR & GI lab environment.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and supplies for GI procedures.
• Assist physicians during GI procedures and in the GI suite.
• Document intra-procedure notes and maintain accuracy.
• Preop and Recovery support, turnover of bays, patient discharge assistance.
• Maintain GI procedure area and clean/stock equipment.
• Ensure compliance with center policies and patient safety standards.

Endoscopy Tech at Stark Ambulatory Surgery Center

Responsible for rendering professional care to patients undergoing GI and PAIN management procedures within the surgical center in accordance with established procedures. Functions cooperatively with physicians and staff, exhibiting teamwork characteristics. Prepares equipment and anticipates Physician and patient needs for GI procedures. Provides general maintenance of the clinical area and equipment. Oversees the GI procedures and maintains all aspects of the GI procedure area. Assessing patients prior to procedure. Document intra-procedure notes. Assist physician on all GI procedures. Prepares and maintains equipment and supplies in the GI procedure area. Cleans and maintains equipment per Center policy. Assists in Preop and Recovery with turning over bays, discharging patients, basic patient assistance and stocking

Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some later evenings required. Competitive salary and benefits for the right candidate.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Medical assistant certification
• Certification in Operating Room Technology a plus
• Current BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Knowledge of policies and procedures specific to the OR and GI
• Strong Customer Service Skills
• Manual dexterity to handle instruments quickly
• Must be conscientious, organized and able to handle the stress of a busy operating room & GI lab environment
• Must be able to function as a team player
• Possess the abilityto lift 25 pounds
• Must be able to communicate and understand the English language, both written and verbal
