Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Southlake is seeking a PRN Endoscopy Tech to support weekday procedures in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

The Endoscopy Tech assists the endoscopy team with patients, helps prepare and move patients, cleans patient care areas, and ensures supply availability and inventory control under RN guidance. Experience in a clinical environment is preferred. This role supports Orthopedics, ENT, Gastroenterology and other specialties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred.
  • One year experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified is preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories.
  • Patient interviewing skills.
  • Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols.
  • Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient.
  • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Assists endoscopy team with patients who are having procedures at the facility.
  • Assists in preparing and moving patients, and in cleaning of the patient care areas.
  • The Endo Tech is responsible for the provision of care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Registered Nurse.
  • Provides a centralized distribution and control of supplies and equipment to the facility.
  • In charge of shipping and receiving, stores prepared articles and supplies in designated areas.
  • Maintains and tracks inventory according to facility procedures.
