Job summary

Memorial Hospital is seeking a Surgical Tech 1 for Endoscopy to support operating room staff and physicians in delivering patient care under supervision. Responsibilities include maintaining aseptic technique, preparing the OR suite, handling instruments, and assisting with dressings and room turnover.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with post‑secondary certification or AST training acceptable as a substitute.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Post-high school diploma or certificate program required; AST training may substitute for military certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR suite for procedures in a timely manner.
• Practice aseptic and sterile techniques.
• Apply cleaning techniques in the operating room.
• Hand instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
• Assist with applying dressings to incisions.
• Restock and clean the room after procedures.
• Participate in in-service training and onboarding of new staff.
• Take call as assigned.
