International Executive Service Corps in Findlay, OH is seeking an administrative scheduling assistant to support operating room workflows. You will handle scheduling of surgical procedures, admit data, and coordinate with nursing staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, knowledge of medical terminology, and proficiency with Word and Excel. Experience with EMR and HIPAA compliance is preferred; strong communication and clerical skills are essential.
Supports the functioning of the operating room by scheduling surgical procedures, performing clerical duties, and assisting the professional nursing staff in the delivery of patient care.
Duty 1: Schedules, reschedules and cancels cases as directed.
Duty 2: Obtains necessary admission information during scheduling procedures
Duty 3: Assures anesthesia availability
Duty 4: Alerts the Surgery Manager, Charge Nurse, and/or Specialty Nurse when specific equipment or instrumentation is required.
Duty 5: Coordinates scheduling as needed with other ancillary departments.
Duty 6: Alerts the Surgery Manager, Charge Nurse, Anesthesia Personnel and/or Specialty Nurse when a scheduling conflict occurs.
Duty 7: Assures block times are maintained and/or released for surgeons and communicates effectively with the Surgeon offices.
Duty 8: Receives and processes heavy volume of incoming calls.Transfer calls appropriately.
Duty 9: Ability to process data from physician offices to provide complete and accurate schedules utilized throughout the hospital.
Duty 10: Maintains office supplies in a cost-effective manner to ensure adequate quantities for departmental use.
Duty 11: Collects and distributes data to the correct individuals and departments while maintaining HIPPA confidentiality.
Duty 12: Provides support services to main desk personnel for continuous flow of information and supplies.
This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, sitting and standing. The associate must help transport patients and be able to lift 50 pounds or more. The individual must have excellent eye-hand coordination with the ability to grasp, push and pull, have fine fingers dexterity and manipulation. The associate must be able to reach work above the shoulders. This position requires corrected vision and hearing in the normal range. The associate must have excellent verbal skills to communicate with patients, physicians, and co-workers.
