Job summary

The Registered Nurse in endoscopy at the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) provides professional nursing care in the Endoscopy unit, prepares patients, monitors vital signs, administers medications, and coordinates post-anesthesia care and discharge instructions.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm with on-call requirements; requires SC nursing license, BLS, ACLS, and minimum one year of RN experience; we emphasize patient safety, teamwork, and adherence to MUSC

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
• BLS certification; ACLS required.
• Minimum of one year RN experience.
• Endoscopy or perioperative nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documents initial nursing histories and assesses patient conditions.
• Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other direct patient care.
• Monitors and records patient status and outcomes.
• Coordinates discharge planning and post-procedure care.
• Ensures infection control and patient safety standards.
• Mentors new staff and provides patient education.
