Job summary

Baptist Health in Lexington is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Endoscopy unit on a part-time, first-shift basis. The role focuses on endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with emphasis on patient-centered care and safety.

You will assess patient needs, develop care plans, provide direct care, and supervise support staff while participating in on-call shifts. Must have KY RN license and BLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP as required.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• If ADN and <10 years experience, enroll in BSN within 12 months and complete within 5 years.
• BLS certification required; obtain within 30 days if not already certified.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia training as required by department.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop care plans.
• Provide direct nursing care and supervise support staff as needed.
• Coordinate patient care delivery and maintain quality care standards.
• Demonstrate leadership and support for quality care.
• Maintain patient relations and healing environment.
• On-call requirement weekends/holidays by rotation.
• Supervise PCTs, LPNs, unit secretaries and students as assigned.

Registered Nurse (ENDO) Part Time I First Shift Surgical Service I Lexington.

The Endoscopy Unit is a specialized department within the hospital that focuses on performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using advanced endoscopic technology. This unit provides minimally invasive methods to examine and treat conditions affecting the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, respiratory system, and other internal structures. Its goal is to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a safe and efficient environment.

• On call requirement weekends/holidays picked by rotation.
• Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery.
• Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity.
• Must possess ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
