Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Endoscopy (ENDO) unit on the first shift. The RN will assess patients, develop care plans, provide direct care, and support smooth delivery of surgical and endoscopy services in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires Kentucky RN licensure, a BSN or ADN, BLS, and department-specific certifications; on-call weekends/holidays rotate.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university.
• If you have an ADN with <10 years experience, enroll in a BSN within 12 months and complete it within 5 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; obtain within 30 days if not already certified.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia class as required by department.

Responsibilities

The Endoscopy Unit is a specialized department within the hospital that focuses on performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using advanced endoscopic technology. This unit provides minimally invasive methods to examine and treat conditions affecting the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, respiratory system, and other internal structures. Its goal is to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a safe and efficient environment.

Description Registered Nurse (ENDO):

• Assessment of patients' needs.
• Development of patient care plans
• Provision of direct care.
• Management of patient care delivery.
• Demonstrate leadership skills.
• Support for quality care.
• Customer relations and healing environment.
• On call requirement weekends/holidays picked by rotation.
• Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery.
• Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity.
• Must possess ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students.

Requirements Registered Nurse (ENDO):

• Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
