Job summary

Highland District Hospital in Ohio seeks an Endoscopy Nurse to provide individualized patient care using the nursing process from admission to discharge. You will assist physicians, monitor patients before, during, and after GI procedures, and help ensure safety and comfort throughout all phases of care.

The role requires an active Ohio nursing license, ACLS (ACLS preferred for admitting endo RN) and CPR certification, plus a minimum of one year in Medical‑Surgical care; GI unit experience is

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program and current Ohio nursing license.
• Minimum of one year in Medical-Surgical or equivalent preferred.
• ACLS; ACLS preferred for Admitting Endo RN.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrates HIPAA compliance and sterile techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients mentally and physically for endoscopy procedures.
• Obtains patient history and updates endoscopy assessment forms.
• Assists with endoscopic procedures and uses equipment (datascope, bovie).
• Monitors vital signs before, during, and after procedures; manages complications.
• Administers IV medications or sedation under physician direction.
• Documents assessments and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Provides discharge instructions and patient education.
• Maintains safe, clean endoscopy department and confidentiality of patient information.
• Engages with physicians and staff to promote teamwork and professional growth.
