Job summary

Parkwest Medical Center in West Knoxville seeks an Endoscopy Processing Technician to ensure proper decontamination, inspection, and high-level disinfection of flexible endoscopes for GI and Pulmonary procedures. You will adhere to manufacturer instructions for use and manage processing equipment accordingly.

The role requires pre-cleaning, leak testing, meticulous manual cleaning, HLD, and careful storage of equipment, with documentation maintained for quality and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, and perform high-level disinfection of flexible endoscopes used in GI and Pulmonary procedures.
• Pre-clean endoscopes and accessories following device IFU, and perform leak tests after each use.
• Conduct meticulous manual cleaning including brushing and flushing channels before HLD or sterilization.
• Visually inspect endoscopes and accessories for any damage or wear.
• Perform HLD according to IFU, following reprocessing instructions for chemicals and equipment.
• Store reprocessed endoscopes to prevent recontamination and ensure proper drying.
• Maintain documentation of reprocessing steps and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
