Job summary

100 LCMC Health is seeking an Endoscopy Reprocessing Technician to ensure proper reprocessing and sterilization of endoscopic equipment, contributing to accurate diagnosis and treatment with strict adherence to safety protocols.

You will assist physicians during procedures, clean and disinfect scopes, monitor performance, label instruments, and maintain logs. Preferred candidates have GI/reprocessing experience and Sterile Processing certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, or 2 years of work experience (minimum).
• Preferred: Endoscopy / GI and reprocessing experience.
• Preferred: Diploma from an approved Sterile Processing Program.
• Preferred: 1 year of healthcare, supply management, or procedure room experience.
• Preferred: Certification as a Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) or Certified Broadcast Processing Specialist (CBSPD).

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to physicians during endoscopic procedures.
• Clean and disinfect a variety of endoscopes and endoscopic accessories.
• Monitor endoscopes and instruments to ensure they are performing at optimal levels.
• Identify and label instruments for processing and high‑level disinfection expiration.
• Operate and maintain automated endoscope reprocessing equipment using proper operating procedures and manufacturer‑recommended parameters.
• Follow policy procedures, protocols, and infection control guidelines.
• Maintain patient data and quality control logs.
• Oversee the care, handling, and maintenance of endoscopes.
• Inspect endoscopes and report broken equipment to supervisor.
• Clean endoscopes properly, dry, and store instruments and supplies using proper stocking and storage techniques.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
