Job summary

Heritage Medical Associates in Nashville is seeking an Endoscopy Technician Specialist to decontaminate, prepare, sterilize and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment across the DDEC, following infection control and safety practices. The role collaborates with physicians and staff to maintain endoscopes and accessories and perform preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with one or more years of related work experience in endoscope reprocessing.
• Certified Sterile Processing/Distribution Technician required.
• Maintains current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment and supplies to include: Clean, disinfect, reprocess all endoscopes according to center policy and manufacturer instructions.
• Responsible for all control parts of the sterilization process including decontamination, prep/pack/sterilize material, documentation of sterilization, and sterile storage.
• Monitor surgery schedule daily, identifying needs for all cases.
• Monitor and maintain records to remain compliant with applicable regulatory agencies.
• Operate and maintain steam autoclave, keeping records of loads completed and items in loads.
• Observes universal precautions.
• Maintain HIPAA policy and Identity Theft Protection policy.
• Keeps work area clean, neat and stocked.
