Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant in the Endoscopy Department to perform direct and indirect care, assist physicians and RNs, and prep endoscopy suites. The role includes floating to other Surgical Services areas as needed and ensuring infection control practices.

The position supports turnover, equipment disinfection, and supply management. Requires High School Diploma, CPR, and basic data entry; Rhode Island nursing assistant registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Current Rhode Island Nursing Assistant registration preferred.
• Basic computer data entry skills required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Sterile supply processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians with specimen capture and retrieval.
• Assists during procedures by passing the scope and handling accessories.
• Prepares and maintains endoscopy equipment and supplies.
• Performs cleaning, disinfection and reprocessing of endoscopes per policy.
• Manages equipment sterilization via ultrasonic and Steris systems.
• Maintains inventory and ensures safe environment for patients and staff.
